Why Does Pixo Editor Require Registration?

When installing the Pixo Editor plugin for photo editing, users are often surprised to find that they need to register with an email and password. This is because Pixo Editor is actually a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and the WordPress plugin is simply a wrapper for this SaaS.

I recently discovered this when I was searching for a bulk image editor. The third result in my search was the Image Editor by Pixo, which promised 'batch editing' capabilities. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try.

As I dug deeper, I found that most recipe posts require retouching almost all photos, and many of these photos need the same editing actions applied. This is because cooking recipe platforms often upload large numbers of photos per post, taken with bad phone cameras that result in blurry or poorly exposed images.

Our project required a bulk photo editing tool, but we were unsure about how to apply cropping actions uniformly across all images. Should we crop each image to the exact same dimensions, or should we apply the crop proportionally? And would each photo still look good after the edit?

Unfortunately, there is no bulk action for mass editing in Pixo Editor, and it's not surprising given the complexity of replicating an action like cropping across a batch of images with different dimensions and aspect ratios.

WordPress has supported image editing for some time now, but its core limitation is that you can only edit images one by one. This makes bulk photo editing a tedious task, which is why a plugin like Pixo Editor is so valuable.
